Academy of Professional Careers in Amarillo
offers a 300-hour Basic Massage Therapy training program. The
Massage Therapy Basic Registration program is designed to meet
the requirements of the Texas Department of Health to become
registered as a massage therapist with the State of Texas. Upon
completion of this program, the student will be eligible to
apply and sit for the exam required for registration with the
State of Texas Department of Health Massage Therapy Registration
Program.
Academy of Professional Careers also offers a 730-hour Massage
Therapy Advanced program that is designed to prepare students
to function competently as a professional Massage Therapist
in a variety of settings. Upon completion of this program, the
student will be eligible to apply and sit for the exam required
for registration with the State of Texas Department of Health
Massage Therapy Registration Program. Students will have also
met the requirements to be eligible to sit for the National
Certification Exam given by the National Certification Board
for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
Academy of Professional Careers is approved and regulated by
the Texas Workforce Commission, Proprietary Schools Division
in Austin, Texas and the Texas Department of Health. Academy
of Professional Careers is nationally accredited by the Accrediting
Commission for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET).
Some classes start on a monthly basis and class size is limited
to 20 students per instructor. Day and evening classes are available.
Contact the school location for more information and start dates.
Financial Aid is available to students in the Massage Therapy
Advanced program who qualify.
Students will learn how to communicate, understand and improve
their lives as well as their client's lives. Massage therapists
and their skills are sought by massage clinics, chiropractic
offices, health spas, beauty salons, cruise ships, sports teams,
sporting events, gyms, hospitals, residential care facilities
and more! The possibilities are limitless because a massage
therapist just needs enough room to set up his or her massage
table or chair in order to work.
Students at our school have the opportunity to work on members
of the public in the Student Massage Clinic. In the clinic,
students will learn to communicate with their clients while
perfecting their newly acquired skills during their clinic internship.
At the completion of the program, students will receive a Certificate
of Completion. Graduates of the massage therapy program will
be eligible for placement assistance. Though placement is not
guaranteed, the school will assist the student in finding suitable
employment in the massage or related fields.
